I'm an LCSW providing counseling, trauma treatment, and hypnotherapy in the Asheville, NC area. My former experience as a psychiatric nurse gives me a unique perspective that includes knowledge of physical as well as psychological conditions and challenges.
I specialize in treating trauma, including sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence and accidents, co-dependency, depression, and grief. As a person living with MS, I also enjoy helping others living with "invisible" diseases.
I would describe myself as an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques, such as EMDR, Hypnosis, and relaxation training to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Using compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. In other words, I work with what you bring me in a way that will get you out of therapy the fastest, and equip you to handle your life with more ease.
